Her father doesn't play here or anyweher else for that matter as he doesn't really know how to play (I'm her god father)

Mis-read it. You should speak to Russ just is case he might make an exception; if you were her "guardian" on this site 😕.

It's the law that says he needs parental consent, it's not something Russ made up himself. The law isn't going to recognise a godparent as any kind of 'guardian'.

You're the (semi) lawyer...if you say so.

Well, I don't know, I suppose it might be possible. I do know that the rule caused a lot of people to leave the site when it was brought in about a year ago. For instance Pradft and all the members of his Veggie Clan (which were mostly kids) left the site in protest. Russ obviously didn't want to lose so many paying customers. So it might not be as easy as it seems.

Thanks but I would feel uncomfortable anyway recommending this site to her parents, although 99.9% of players are fine it would only take one idiot to mess around a young girl to make it all a huge disaster, so its not worth the risk

Might of lost some money but sounds like Russ got his wish.

Chessmaster - a computer game, is a wonderful game. I teach special ed (grade level 2-6) and all the kids love the program - it has different setting so you can play against the computer set at kids level.🙂

I think this is why Russ reluctantly took the decision to bar under 13s.
