I hope you didn't exceed your tea limit on the duty free coming back.

Shook hands with Princess Anne (when I got my degree) -
she shook hands with the entire Albert Hall that day so nothing special!

Shook (enormous) hands with Frank Bruno (British boxer) at a Christmas Party for Special Ed kids. (And met Santa same day!)

Bumped into Esther Rantzen (broadcaster) a few times walking the dogs on Hampstead Heath - she always looked fed-up!

Talking of fed-up saw Clement Freud (broadcaster & grandson of Sigmund)
in shop in Hampstead. Also Howard Lang (Captain Baines from TV's Onedin Line) in same shop.

Rubbed shoulders with Steve Davis (World snooker champion) in my
local pub - Boar's Head, Herongate.

Apart from Frank Bruno they were all exceedingly glum!

I see myself in a mirror most times when we go to the multiplex. 🙂

    I've had a few:
    Bobby Hull at the Airport
John C. McGinley (Platoon) when I was working the nightshift
Paul Gross (Due South) same circumstance
Dan Aykroyd, while cycling on Toronto's waterfront

    Chess Personalities:
I got Spassky's autograph at the CNE in 1971
I was standing behind Victor Korchnoi at a Burger King during the Toronto International. I think it was 1985
I got to speak with Anatoly Karpov after he did a lecture and have a picture to prove it. :-)

    Just remembered--

I shook hands with Captain Alfred Haynes after he gave a talk on aviation safety. The talk was centered around a "controlled crash" of the L-1011 he was piloting in 1989, after mechanical failures. He was knocked unconscious in the breakup of the airplane at Sioux City, Iowa.

I also shook hands with Paul MacCready after his talk on his invention called the Gossamer Albatross. It was the first human-powered aircraft to cross the English Channel.

I went to a talk where I was sitting 25 feet from speaker Leo Esaki, inventor of the Esaki diode. I remember some people getting his autograph afterward.
