I’m speaking of the distinction ancestry made.
Perhaps you didn't understand my question.

Along with many thinking they have all the answers.
Americans generally are not complex creatures.

My father's side of the family was mostly English, Scotch and a bit of German on my paternal grandmother's side and when they came to America, settled in Pennsylvania. My mother's side was all Missouri farmers going back many generations.

"Scotch" is an alcoholic drink. A lot of Scots ~ i.e. Scottish people ~ are offended by being called "Scotch".

My Uncle who died 2 years ago now was the keeper of all the family's history (this is the history on my mum's side). There were some impressive stories. Sadly no one wrote them down before my uncle passed, so they're lost now. I only remember snippets of them. We had something to do with opium, someone was born on a boat before pirates took it, someone got away with murder because he was white but then the victims siblings got revenge and we're also related to them somewhere but I forget the link now, someone blackmailed the white aristocrats in Singapore and was cut out of the family (but there was an aunt who kept in touch), two great uncles were captured by 'The Japs' and treated really badly, someone was electrocuted by a frenemy when he was working... all these stories are lost.

A bit of a Viking then whereas I’m more likely a distant relative of Genghis Khan 🫤

mongrels
My DNA came back with 15 different world regions.

Mongrel has a negative feel to it don't you think. It's more interesting to be a mix than having 100% of just one region.

When I was 5 or 6 my father planted a small tree he said in 50 years this tree will be as tall as the house. Man was he wrong, the tree wound up being taller than the house and we ended up having to cut it down, as it became a hazard to the house.

Yea, I know wrong tree but an interesting little piece of information for the TWINS collection indeed. 🙂

We are all complex creatures even when some are very small minded weak people.
