Do you mean 'sand cake' with at least one third of the sand dough mixed with 3% cocoa and then the 2 parts loosely rolled together before baking?
If so,that is Marble cake.Although,in England, marble cake can be made from any combination of sand dough as long as there is a colour difference to produce a 'marble' look.

I guess it is an English expression.

Made it many times as a kid.
2/3 white batter, 1/3 chocolate batter
pour white batter into baking pan and then drizzle chocolate batter making chocolate lines on top of white batter. Then take a spatula and gently swirl the chocolate batter, carefully not mixing the chocolate and white batter.
Bake and enjoy.
