Meaning, of course, that for any other statement to be true, you must have erred in setting up your "story problem".
Regardless of the actual facts in the case (which no one can really know, except you), AS GIVEN, the answer to your "logic problem" cannot be #5.
It's not our fault if the problem was faulty from the start.

"It is hereby determined that One of Us [who is GB] is Not It;
nor Her; nor She. Further, it is determined that Said Individual
is Not They; or Them. It is, therefore, the Considered Judgment
of This De Facto Body of GB's Peers that He is He/Him."

Then, the rest of us can try to figure out which brief statement is true, by the continuing

Apparently, we have four "Sets of Statements" to work on collectively to figure out
which one in each set is true. Good Luck with This Considerable Challenge!!!!
"1. was a slut @ 12
2. was a prude until 22
3. was a slut in my mind until 17
4. was an angelic virgin when married not so long ago
5. was none of the above" (#1/Coquette)
...............................................................................
"1. This statement is true.
2. Statement 1 is false.
3. Statement 2 is false.
4. Statement 3 is false.
5. Only one of the above statements is true." (#2/JS357)
...............................................................................
"The following sentence is true.
The previous sentence is false." (#3/HandyAndy)
.........................................................................
"1) All the previous posters need to get a life, and/or a grip
2) I need to get a life and stop being so judgemental
3) Statement's 1 and 2 are false
4) Statement's 1 and 2 are coincidentally true
5) Everybody lies, especially to themselves"(#4/Kevcvs57)

Mercy Bump (to conclude an inappropriate thread, which doesn't quite fit within the less demanding 'Banter and Games Format' of the forum). Best Guess Answers: 1) "5." The Only Statement that's Consistent with the Self Proclaimed Forum Title Change Rationale; 2) "5." The Only Statement that Stands Alone On It's Own Merit [the other four are self contradictory]; 3) "Circular Two Statement Q&A Tease" [as opposed to the requested format of five] in which both statements are diametrically opposed and, therefore, without additional statements the reader's left without a clue; 4) "5." Statements 1-4 Cannot Co-Exist Simultaneously [since 3 & 4 can't both be 'True', which Robs 1 & 2 of Any Self Validation]. "Statement 5" Exists Independently of the First Four (and is also 'empirically true'. lol) Thanks for contributing to the conversation. (gb)

But I do like this sublimely gormless pronouncement by 'someone on the internet':
"if I weren't" is grammatically correct.
think of it this way
does it make sense if i say "if i was not"
or does it make more sense in "if i were not"
"were not" makes more sense

If I were not so busy, I would provide more details.
Originally posted by HandyAndyYes they are. If I was more motivated, I would provide more details! The one-is-right and the-other-is-wrong thing is probably the result of thousands of ELT teachers, over the decades, making up A Rule because they felt they ought to when cornered by students... who often have trouble processing the English language's idiosyncrasy-strewn reality and crave 'A Rule' in situations like this rather than 'A Choice'. [I've heard cornered ELT teachers trying to conjure up a subtle difference between the pronouns 'no one' and nobody' for the same reason]. If I was - If I were, both perfectly fine. The 'subjunctive' mood is indicated by the use of the past tense, whether it's 'was' or 'were'.
Both are not fine.
Okay, Okay, You Dudes and Dudettes Play Rough. Let's Try One More Easy Set of Five Fibber Statements for The Gipper: 1. The Body Color of Most North American Ducks is Sometimes Dark Purple; 2. Black Bears are Very Strong but Ducks are Even Stronger; 3. You Can't Get Down from An Elephant but Can From a Duck; 4. Tigers and Lions Would be No Match for An Enraged Male Duck in The Heat of The Moment; 5. All Four Statements [1. through 4.] are Incorrect. Anyone Found Googling or Referencing Books or Notes Will Be Disqualied On The Spot.
