Just looking into the History on the World Cups, and who won them.
Only eight countries have won the men's FIFA World Cup since the tournament began in 1930.
The countries that have lifted the trophy and their total titles are:
Brazil: 5 titles
Germany: 4 titles
Italy: 4 titles
Argentina: 3 titles
France: 2 titles
Uruguay: 2 titles
England: 1 title
Spain: 1 title

@Ponderable saidI watched that game, Germany had 2 goals taken back and Ivory Coast appeared to me to be giving them a good run for their money. Was looking like a draw for awhile.
Germany won, but Ivory Coast had their big chances and a dtaw would have been the resukt doing more justice to the game.

@Ponderable
It's official, Pondy, Germany has advanced to the 'Field of 32', and your first game is at Boston Stadium
against a yet-to-be named opponent. And, oh by the way, that'll be me waving to you 😀
@Earl-of-Trumps saidThank you. I do hope that it will be a good match

@diver saidAnd the same debate between Messi and Mbappé begins...
I suggest the debate over who is the greatest between Messi and Ronaldo is now over.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidNot at all sir. They defended well.
My Lord.
England is drawn by *who*...?? How you say, Gold Coast???
Oh the humiliation 😢 😢 😢
@Earl-of-Trumps saidI wouldn’t go that far, but there was an expectation of a win for sure.
The three worst stadiums, attendance-wise:
Guadalajara, Toronto and Vancouver, who left many an empty seat. shame shame.
The Canadian cities have an excuse - they are not into soccer that much, but the Mexicans...?
Wait 'til next year
Before the game I said to the missus that this team are going to have to be hightly organised and not concede one goal if they’re going to get anything from the game, and they were. Credit to them and their manager; they “parked the bus” locked its doors and held their ground.
As for England, they were ok but the manager failed to sufficiently change tactics imo. The subs were pretty good and created the opportunities but the change needed to be early. Saka will start on the right against Panama with Madueke coming on as a lively sub (which is what he was brought for) and I don’t think Gordon will start on the left either.
[typos 🙄]
