Get rid of them. They looks bad and very unprofessional for a serious chess site. Ban the people who start these stupid threads for 30 days. Ban the ones posting and continuing them to last so long for 7 days. People of like interests such as shown in these threads can form a clan or club and talk all they want about womens butts and such topics out of public view.

I agree, it really is not a great look. I always assume these threads will die a death quickly and fall away, but they appear surprisingly popular and bump to the top again.
I don't want to stifle random conversations, but if this becomes a recurring problem, some threads may get closed earlier than normal. My metric for this? Does the title make me cringe when I read it.
Why don’t you just remove the general forum completely and be done with all those threads?
