As far as I've been able to find out, hair does not grow back faster and thicker, anywhere on the body!
Hair grows faster and thicker through age! This would explain why people think their hairs grow back thicker and faster, but it's not because they're shaving it off, it's because they get older.
I don't know this for sure, mind you, I'm just ...[text shortened]... you're dead. It just looks that way, but actually it is the skin receding as it dries out.
Alright, I confess. I have facial hair, and I hate it! I hate having it on my face, I hate shaving, I just hate it. What am I to do??? Not only that, but now you tell me that it grows faster as you get older. My hair already grows about two inches in a month (seriously!) and I'm only eighteen. What have I done to offend the Gods...
I didn't shave until I was 23 and even now, some 20 odd years on, I only need to shave once every couple of days. My problem is that if I let it grow it goes ginger, whereas the rest of my hair is blonde (but going darker as I get older).
Also I started developing a monks crown when I was 28, so I've been shaving my head ever since. Not only does it look/feel better but I won't end up with a "comb-over". π
Mmmhhh! Started shaving at 23 - hair loss at 28. Some connection? Maybe but who cares because I'm happy with my head hair growth, whatever it's rate. π
I was in the hairdressers a few weeks ago and the lady cutting my hair was asking me why I hadn't shaved that day 'I guess sometimes you are in a rush to get to work, eh?', she said.
This is a problem I have always had. I never look like I've shaved even though I shave every morning - I look clean shaven for about three or four hours at most, not helped by the fact that I have very pale skin, and very dark hair. I have had this discussion with friends at work, and the only way I can prove it is by pointing out that if I didn't, in fact, shave every day, then surely some days it would be worse than others!
I have friends who can go for maybe two or three days without shaving and still look respectable; they don't know how lucky they are!

I can only assume that you had too much spare time on your hands that you could think of nothing constructive to do.
well, it is probably just as well considering how so many have already felt the need to reveal their outermost thoughts.
in fact, the problem is so universal that in physics, we created a special value for it, understandably known as the Stubble Constant.
ok ok. now i'll just retreat to the recesses of the debates forum and stay there for awhile.

-paul, who shaves about once a week sheerly out of stubbornness. "when it starts to itch, I'll shave in a day or two"
