I've tried it all, but the best razor I have ever used is that new Gillette that vibrates. There is no comparison.
i agree with you and find it better than even the rotary phillishave.
i find that i don't cut myself with it at all.

Basically as opposed to exclusively selling blades in their adverts they actually are selling 'status'. As in, if you use whatever their red razor is called, then not only will u have a good shave, but also a wicked red sports car and a sexy burd.
Also, wasn't the selling point of the mach3, that using 3 blades at once, then u wouldn't have to go over the same spot 3 times with a single blade, and so your skin would be better. Well I dunno about u guys, but where I come from 1 x 3 = 3 x 1. One word: gimmick.

i could never really see why 3 blades are better than 1 (there's one out now with 4, apparently).
however, the vibrating aspect does seem to make some sense from a physics standpoint i think since it may allow the blade(s) to 'fit' into areas that it may not otherwise do.
i'm just glad i'm not cutting myself like i did with the doubleblade and singleblade ones in my past.

I seem to recall that Gillette tested on animals.
Is this no longer the case?

About four years ago I was still wearing a beard, sort of Abe Lincoln style ; U-shaped around the bottom without a moustache. It started on a seaside holiday when I got too lazy to shave.
At the time I was looking around for a new job. An agency contacted me and asked if I would be interested in going for an interview, since I had all the right qalifications: engineering degree, management experience and a good knowledge of German. The firm was Krupp, who were looking for a manager for their SA agency.
The interview went well. I answered all the questions correctly, and, I believe, I met all their requirements. However, I could not help noticing that halfway through the interview they seemed to flag and the questions became half-hearted. After they said the usual: "We'll contact you", one of them said: "May I ask you one last question?", "Sure", I responded.
"Mr K, why do you have a beard?"
So that was what was bothereing them! I believe to this day that I lost that job because of the beard!
A year later I shaved it off for another reason. Today I am clean shaven.
In peace,
CJ

For example, airline stewardesses are still selected according to certain physical characteristics. I know that there are rules for marketing and sales people: how to dress, (e.g. no bow-ties!) and what mannerisms to avoid.
Actually, IMHO the answer does not lie in complaining against the "discrimination" that still exists, but to learn the "rules of the game" for the industry in which you are! In retrospect, if I had any inkling that the Germans were suspicious about people with facial hair, I would have had no problem with shaving it off. It was not that important a part of my life at all!
