You know, sometimes I have to deliberate whether it would be fair to take a timeout or not if the game is still hanging in the balance.
Fortunately, some players make this choice very easy for me by posting in their profile that they will always take a timeout - it makes my life so much easier when I can turn the tables on those types and make the ...[text shortened]... s of you use this method as a tiebreak when you are not sure whether or not to time someone out?
I've actually looked at people's games when deciding to click or not (If I have the luxary and am not desperately trying to reduce my game count, If I'm at 70 games in progress and have time for 15, no mercy). If they seem to never time people out, or I have had interesting conversation with them in the forums or in game messages, I tend to cut them some slack. If half their wins are on timeout, I click that skull as soon as it pops up. I admit to getting some sadistic joy out of it if they are higher rated by a lot (and seem to get there by being time-out jerks), and my clicking that skull drops them.

😳 No, yo entiendo muchas cosas, y leo mucho, pero no puedo jugar ajedrez y algunas veces yo cuento con los dedos. 😳

if i'm clearly winning and it looks like my opponent abandoned the game, i'll skull him. if it's been a good game i'll give him/her a chance... i'd hate to ruin a good game with a cheap skull'n.

it's just chess, not war. play for the beauty of it... unless the opponent's a pr1ck in which case he's toast.

Cosas. Entiendo que hay personas que tienen las opiniones diferentes de yo (pero no entiendo porque 😉 ). Lo siento -- necesito salir. Mis estudiantes son regresando.

My first year here I was foolish enough NOT to claim timeouts. What happened to me was I was playing a player of equal strength, around 1850, and winning 3 of the 4 games.

This dude dropped 400 rating points in a matter of a week! But because I allowed him to continue our games, I won 3 out of 4 which gave me +3 rating points... and I lost 1 game to him which cost me 31 rating points!

As soon as I see a skull you're history. I LOVE clicking the skull! 😛

I won't click if they have a return date (that hasn't passed) or (generally) if it's a clan member of mine (when I was in a clan). I probably wouldn't time out my brother. I did time out both my sister and "step-sister" but that's because they only played a few moves and never returned.

And I was just about to dedicate my autobiography to you, too! Now I'll have to find someone else. 😞
