What is the difference? Isn't muscle, muscle? I'm a skinny guy.

Apologies - wrong quote edit
disagree. 3 days a week would do it using basic exercises - bench press/squats/deadlifting/curls for 8-12 reps * 3 sets for most body types.
Each set you should use as heavy weights as possible, once you have learnt correct techniques, which would take about 2-4 weeks.
Eat as much good quality food as you can - c ...[text shortened]...
In 3 Months if the gym is decent + decent instructors guarantee you'll put on some muscle.

all men produce testosterone - you're right some produce less than others so it will be harder to gain muscle.
Saying some people cant build muscle is wrong - unless theres a specific medical condition, whats required is the correct training plan - nutrition - rest and motivation.
Also bear in mind the more exercise you do the more testosterone and growth hormone is produced which will aid muscle growth.
People who have more testosterone will have an advantage in building muscle quicker, it doesnt mean they're the only people who ca grow muscle.
Originally posted by ludzJust do pushups and buy some dumbbells. I'm 56 and drive a truck and thats what I use to exercise with when I'm on the road which is most of my life. I wish I could go to a gym but, most national chains are owned locally and don't honor cards from other cities.
I want to go to gym and get muscles. How many of you do that?

What about weight-gaining powders? Or will I put on fat as well?
If youre a naturally skinny chap it sounds like you might have a high metabolism or youre just not a big eater o do a lot of aerobic activity . If this is the case a protein shake in the morning followed by 4-6 small good quality meals as well as the correct training plan will help build muscle.
The only reason you should put on fat weight is if you are not burning up the calories from your training routine.
If you want a routine let me know or just google training routines.
As for doing pushups etc or working out from home with dumbells, its better than nothing but you will get better results in a gym, especially as a novice who doesnt know correct techniques.
