Is it a sign when you find the forums more interesting than the games?
Also, should non subs be restricted to reading just 6 posts per day?

Great question, Eamon. My going in view is that 'it's' all about other people

with whom you wish to connect. In game messaging reciprocity is mixed.

Haha!! Or 6 clubs, you know they each (when there's 20 players in the club) have their own forum.

Oh the posibilities hey!!

I haven't been playing enough chess lately to get tired of it. I was playing three games, then I ruined a perfectly good game when my opponent made a surprise appearance one night less than 15 minutes before my Internet session was due to expire, and I rushed a move and was so disgusted by the results that I immediately resigned. (It wasn't immediately catastrophic, but it was positionally bad and would have resulted in a lost pawn, and after having played what I thought was an interesting game, the fact that I threw it away in this fashion irritated me.)

I haven't started new games (only two still playing) yet because I haven't felt up to snuff lately. And my opponents in the remaining two games have been moving so infrequently lately that chess is about the last thing I do here.

no, the posts in the forum just make for such compelling reading. the slashing wit, the cornucopia of originality, the neverending tragedy of human frailty!

In a cruel twist of fate, nonsubs are required to read twice as many forum posts as subs. Most people are willing to just fork over the money rather than keep reading.

I don't re-call ever hearing anyone else call the forums "Interesting" ! I have heard them called many things, and some that would get this post pulled, and a warning sent to me, but I am sure I have never heard them called interesting. Very Interesting 😉

It could be another way of reducing the numbers of people using the site and posting in the forums - if that's what is wanted 😕

I think 'dreary' is the word to describe some of the forums recently.
