There was something eerie about the way he used the term "mixed race school"
Sent a shiver up my spine. Brought back memories of George Wallace and Little Rock
Interesting photo of the 101st Airborne Division escorting the Little Rock 9 to school:

You often pull out your own, often fanciful, interpretations of the TOS to support some convoluted argument about what you believe the RHP rules ought to be.
In this case, we don't need to rely on your misguided interpretation of the Admin's intent. They have spoken and spoken clearly. They found the avatar offensive.

Chris' short-tempered response was unfortunate.
You, of all people, who glorify many people who leave this site for utterly petty reasons or are tossed off for perfectly good ones are a complete hypocrite for now supporting the "love it or leave it" standard.

And people in other parts of the world do not have the same sensitivy to racial issues that we have here in the US.
I hope I made it clear that the eeriness I felt was my emotional reaction to the term "mixed-race school"
Whether it was a reasonable question might depend on the context. If you look at some of the prior posts it seems clear to me that it wasn't just an innocent question, but again that is my perception.

It's how you came across, by what you said, because, you were ignorant of the fact, I wasn't taught about African History.
I feel sorry that you didn't learn anything about african history in school. That means there is a huge gap in your education because Africa is covered extensively in most schools' mythology and civilization sections. So it was plausible for him to assume you had studied it in school. Going by the dictionary definition of the word ignorant he was but that has no bearing on the conversation, a conversation you shouldn't even take part since you are ignorant of african history.
Originally posted by cashthetrashYou previously stated that pictures of Nazi victims in camps was "anti-Semitic" just like you believe that photos of slaves in chains are "racist". Since you want to censor images from Roots by logical extension you'd also want to censor images from Schindler's List. That's what you have implied unless what you really mean is that certain rules should be applied to BWA members but not for others.
You put words in people mouths a lot. I never mentioned The Movie "Schindlers List". It has no bearing on the topic. Stop trying to distort and put propaganda in peoples minds as to what I think. You aren't bright enough to realize what I think.
Hey Yo "CatFOODTIM", you listening?
Originally posted by hopscotchAre you genuinely interested in knowing about Indigenous history or are you just trying to expose Bindi for pretending to be black? If it's the latter, then you've lost this one before you even started. Maybe you just don't want to take her word for it given you have never met her. That would be fair enough too, but at the end of the day you would have wasted your time.
Did you go to a mixed race school?
Maybe there are other reasons why you keep asking her, care to share those?
If it was the former, I would be only too happy to get into a discussion with you about Indigenous history.

Queensland schools traditionally taught only three streams in primary school - English, Mathematics, Social Studies - while Victorian schools had History classes from Year 5 onward. (I attended both.) The "history" taught us was British, with a few scrappy bits of Commonwealth thrown in. We were taught that African natives were taken to the US as slave labour, and that was about it. "Mythology" and "civilisation" are not topics taught in this country at all.

People on this site make many assumptions about others based on their own world view. In a lot of cases those assumptions are incorrect. We may share a common language (sort-of), but that's about it.

I don't see its your place to tell me what conversations I can participate in and what I can't.
Perhaps you should read on Aboriginal History in this country, and then you'll see where I'm coming from.
