forgive my ignorance but isn't a haiku supposed to be 3 lines of 5 then 7 then 5 sylabbles.

your 3rd line in each of above 'I became' only has 3 sylabbles. What you have written isn't Haiku.
In English
three, five and then three
syllables

Equals jap
five, seven and five
syllables

Hence proper
English haiku is
what I write

So you see
All of my haiku's
are correct

It's commonly known among any haiku fanatics that in English 3,5,3 is the equivalent of japanese 5,7,5. So, correct English haiku is actually three syllables, five syllables and three syllables. You'll see that all my haiku's above follow that pattern.

Your ignorance is already forgiven. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜›

He edited it.
Cheeky little chimpanzee.
Now it's a haiku,

Or better said several.
They are in 3-5-3 style.

It was a tanka.
Tankas are allowed here, too.

well - five, seven, five
then two more lines - each seven
that follow after

This makes a tanka. Though the
short form might be just five five?
