Ok, people. How do you capture an escaped hamster?

It's been about 9 hours since he was last seen.

Where did he escape to? You can usually hear the claws scraping along any wooden or tiled floor, carpet's a bit harder. Try leaving some odourous hamster food out and snag him when he goes for it.

I remember chasing our Harry the hamster for hours. We had to corner him the three of us...maybe you can do that? He'd go into his cadge all by himself then if we put it infrount of him.

Good luck it's a tedious job!

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire...

Try calling it. Tell it that there's a nice cage with woodchips in it and a water bottle. He can't get that on the outside. 😕

One website says to leave its cage on the floor, open.

He's probably in my cabinets munching on cereal right now.

When I was a kid, my sister had a hamster that one day escaped and found a hole in the floor and lived under the floor for a while. Since hamsters are mostly active at night, my siblings did night shifts at the hole, putting some food close to it in the hope that the hamster would come out to get it. I think they did that for at least two nights. They didn't manage to stay awake, so the next morning both the food and the hamster were gone. Eventually my sister caught the hamster in her sleep when it had climbed up into her bed!
