If you're not quitting the site after all, you can just ask the admin to delete this thread. I would if I were in your situation

That would be what to do if I gave a shyte. For someone not interested in anything I think or do, you put in a lot of threads about it. I almost think you might just maybe consider me to be an enemy, but of course that would entail you being interested in what I have to say, so it can't be rising to that level. Just pity on your part perhaps.

I can imagine that’s a blow, especially one gets a bit older.
I guess I just couldn’t see the connection with that upsetting experience and leaving the site. Good to see that you haven’t.

American. I used to live in Jerusalem and found they use 220 VAC and 50 hertz. ATT I had recording equipment, tape recorders and the 50 Hertz part screwed up the speed of the reels, the motors being very sensitive to the frequency of the AC power, so if you had for instance, 30 hertz, the reels would go half speed, so if you set it at 15 IPS, it would really be doing 7.5 inches/second. I got around that by getting a machinist to make a spindle that would make the thing work at proper speed in a 50 hertz power world.

Of course now, with incredible digital recorders all that is out the window, power can be anything from 90 volts to 250 volts and 25 hertz to 90 Hertz all automatically compensated.

There. Does that divert the subject well enough?🙂
