Okay, so last time I asked you pretend friends to supply me with some cold remedies and I got some great ones. Now I have another problem: On Friday, I have to perform (sing) but my voice is incredibly hoarse from being ill and I'm worried it will affect my performance. My throat isn't actually very sore but my voice has suffered incredibly for some reason. My vocal range has been cut in half and I can't sustain notes for very long.
Does anyone have a remedy (natural or otherwise) for something like this?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Let us know how you get on.

Also, any jokes regarding seminal fluids or anything of that sort are completely predictable and hence extremely lame.
Oh, and stop gargling baby batter...perfunctory. 😞 Pfft.
I have a mate who sings with a band and he swears by tomato juice, with loads(and I mean loads, so much that it makes his eyes water) of tabasco sauce about an hour before he goes on stage.
I would advise you test this beforehand as he is a lunatic.
Oh and take some breath mints with you just in case you get lucky!

Originally posted by rbmorrisI was thinking about buying a humidifier today actually...
Before you sing, but also throughout the day.
Sometimes when my throat is bothering me, I'll boil a tea kettle of water and stand over it inhaling the steam. Not a bad idea to sleep with a vaporizer or a humidifier on either.
Originally posted by darvlayYou need to relax the throat and neck muscles completely. Have your partner place his hands on your head, and guide your face with each movement. The more into it you are, the wetter your throat will stay, thus eliminating your hoarseness.
