There was a segment on the news yesterday about an apartment that to be honest, I have had cloest that were bigger, that was selling for something like $600,000. What is going on there? The report said that housing is selling for $9,800 a square foot.
What keeps you all there? Honestly.
Does anyone know who bought it?
Back in the late 60s I had a bed-sit in Kensington that cost me £5/10d a week which was about a fifth of my weekly wage. Most of the housing in the centre of London is now owned by foreign investors and rented by . . . who? Anyone out there rent in the Kensington area now?
Originally posted by DudleyI had a room in a flat in kensington in 1971 and the rent was £10/month, but this was a reduced rent on the basis that I had to service 4 screaming sheilas (australian drink you under the table females who I shared with) and provide instant medical advice (I was a medical student). I only lasted two months - the rent was too expensive
