Side note here. My daughter once wanted a violin for Chritmas. I play the guitar and several other instuments, but I never played anything with a bow. It is not easy to pick up on that. I gained a new respect for cellists etc then. 🙂

My daughter wanted a violin too. we rented one for 3 years to make sure she was serious. Then we bought her a $4,800.00 violin. She played exactly 9 months more, hated the new school Orchestra director and gave it up. Ever try to sell a $4,800.00 violin. It ain't the easiest thing to do. Took me 22 months to get my money back on it. Never again. If the kid wants an instrument now....she's getting a cazoo!!
