it's 'give n monkeys n typewriters' - they don't cooperate - it's just that, statistically, one of them is likely to type out Hamlet, provided you have n big enough. so, yeah, one of your monkeys might play at Kasparov level, but you would probably get to defeat a looooooooot of monkeys before that happened...

Which monkey would select the moves?

Judging by some games I have played here I think the monkeys are already here!

Getting a monkey to play a whole game without making an illegal moves would be a good start. 😉

Yes but if you get a million Monkeys and get them to play for a million years one of them will beat Kasparov!

I think Kasparov would play like a monkey by the time he reaches the age of 100.

but what would happen if we took a million of 100 years old kasparovs, and let them type a book about monkeys?

If you give the monkeys long enough they will become bi-pedal and perhaps create a game resembling chess, but with diffrent rules. The pieces will most likly be called chessmonkeys. there will be cookies with chessmonkeys on them that may be dipped in milk. This might take longer that a million years. Maybe if all of RHP got on to a spaceship it could happen. But i make no gaurentee that we wont end up in cages trying to play monkeychess and them contemplating if we could even make it through a whole game using only legal moves.
