So you say (and keep saying).

I wouldn't call what you do 'discussion'.

Go watch Star Wars. Immediately!

It annoys me immensely that you haven't watched any of them. 😠
It's a calculated move to remain separate from, and therefore consider himself above, the rest of humanity.

It annoys me too, but what are you gonna do? The weird we shall always have with us.

Do you think he wears aluminum foil on his head to stop alien transmssions from taking over his mind?

The thread title says it all. It's like Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars. I haven't seen any of them. But let's not make this thread about me. Why do people rave about The Matrix?
Only the first film was worth raving about; the two sequels are just terrible, one worst than the next. The Matrix video game was also pretty bad, as well as the AniMatrix, an anime-style collection of Matrix-themed....crap.

The first film had great effects (for the time; some effects will seem fairly dated now), and had a pretty inventive concept and great action scenes. The dialogue was also top-notch, able to be philosophical without being pretentious (that was the sequels). It was quite an intelligent and engaging movie. I'd still recommend it.

Great sci-fi movie. (the original especially ) . Good use of special effects and visually great story telling. The 9 collection of shorts titled 'Animatrix' is also full of thought-provoking ideas.

Even Star Wars had bad sequels but 'the Last Jedi' took it to a whole nother level. Completely ignoring what made Star Wars great, this sequel has the unique status of single-handedly killing off the biggest franchise in history.
Maybe thats what Lucas wanted all along by appointing Kathleen Kennedy as head producer.

The sequels wren't that bad. Just too drawn out . The final peace between humans and machines is still an interesting ending that makes one think

The Matrix had a brilliantly done existential crisis. If a simulation is real enough, who can distinguish it from reality? And, is one under some sort of moral obligation to always choose reality over the simulation, once one becomes aware of the simulation?
