I'm going to D.C.

Are there any good cafes near (walking distance) the mall? I am looking to sit outside and have good coffee. Those are the two important criteria. Any suggestions?

i was in d.c. 25 years ago...very nice trip..but i do not recollect any place to buy coffee by the mall itself...bring some starbucks from the hotel or something..might be a little lukewarm by the time you get there but still should be okay enough..be sure to visit the jefferson memorial at sunset and they only give you about 8 seconds to look at the declaration of independence...the vietnam wall is sad...

I haven't been there in a while, but look up the Old Post Office Cafe (I'm pretty sure that's the name of it).
