Originally posted by RagnorakI think that's a wonderful idea, but I'm afraid there isn't much we can do about it. There will always be people who will use the forums to attack other people. By the way, it's because the forums became such a place, I didn't visite them anymore. Maybe we can ask Russ to create a forum especially for those people who want to be nasty.
I think we can all agree that the forums are in a bit of a trough at the moment. One of the reasons given for this trough are the amount of personal attacks going on in the forums. The objective of this thread is to discuss what constitutes an "attack", and what, if anything, can be done to prevent future attacks.
I've been observing a self-proclaimed ...[text shortened]... ese types of attacks on valued members of the community.

Just as my post here maybe considered an attack on you. Anytime one disagrees with a post, and then post his disagreement this could be construed as an attack on the original poster.

I agree with your post Ragnorak, but I also think to some extent people should be able to take a little criticism without getting their knickers in a bind. In some cases, I think, people need to wear a little tougher skin.
Originally posted by RagnorakIt is a little ironic that you started this thread. I agree with what you are doin. but, you have at times been one to attack people on the forums yourself. . Is this your redemption? Quite a few people on this site are on the 'IN' and can't be criticised without the barracudas waiting to tear apart any who oppose a view that is counter to the "RHP posse".
