How can you know that you wouldn't be impressed with it if you haven't seen it? I found it quite interesting, as I hadn't heard the term before and didn't know anything about its history.
wiki is an unreliable source in my mind.

Here is another article:

May 20, 2002 News Release:
“TAR-BABY” EPITHET FUELS RACIAL TENSIONS AT REDSTONE
Verbal outrage part of pattern of racism and corruption, minorities charge

"This is the rocket capital of the world, the home of Americas’ weapons of the future,” said RAM Executive Director Matthew Fogg. “But minority employees still have to struggle with obscene prejudices and insults that should have been left in the past after we defeated Jim Crow.” African Americans at Redstone “are afraid of reprisals if they speak out against discrimination”, said Fogg, also a Chief deputy U.S. Marshal. “The racial atmosphere is hostile.”

Fogg said he is in possession of an April 16 2002 email, written by a US Army GS-14 manager, that openly describes an African American woman Information Assurance (IA) officer as a “Tar-baby”. The target of the epithet holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering.

Who was the "target of the epithet" in this case?

How about Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary: http://m-w.com/dictionary/tar%20baby

From the article YOU cited:

Is tar baby a racist term? Like most elements of language, that depends on context.

Explain how the context of kirksey's use is the same or similar to the use in the incident you cited in a prior post. If it isn't (and it isn't), you should withdraw the claim that he used a racial slur and issue an appropriate, heartfelt, grovelling apology.

Kirksey made it into Time Magazine?

Sorry, Time Magazine doesn't really impress me! What a bunch of hacks.

You were about to explain the use of the alleged racial slur in context...?

If you read the Time article you will see that in the next edition this dictionary will add the racist conotation of the word.

You cited Merriam Webster...pointing out that they were planning to change that definition seemed like a good response to me...still does.

So what? That the term CAN be a racial slur if used in one context doesn't mean it WAS a racial slur in the context kirksey used it. You keep dodging that.

So, let me see if I have this straight. You are in favor of free speech for everyone but me?
I am entirely in favor of your right to blather on and on about whatever subject strikes your fancy. When you use this right for good I may commend you for it. When you use it for evil I may rail against you. But in either case, I still support your freedom just the same as I have supported Kirksey's.
