I don't agree, and you might want to look the word sport up.

I wish everyone would take some time to look the word sport up before they post.

Many sports are like a war, including Bowling. I guess you've never played in a league, and just tinker with bowling here and there. I used to play head to head all the time, and you can see bowling quite often on ESPN Sports.

When I bowl, the 10 pins are those of my enemy. The front 3 are the defense, trying to knock me away from the fest. Pins 4, 5 and 6 are the armies of my enemy. 7,8, 9 and 10 are the enemies resources.

Knock them all over, and you've destroyed one of 12 cities!

NFL is like a war, you are trying to capture the flag... and the only way to capture the flag is to bring the ball 100 yards to the enemy.
Soccer is like a war. A war where little girls trip, slap, and pull hair.
Baseball is a war, where you try to deliver the ball past the enemy, and if they knock it out of the park they gain ground.
Cricket is like bowling and baseball all in one.
Tenis is like a war, where you try to sneak the ball past the enemy.

All sports can be a war, but that isn't the definition of sports. So again, if you have not taken a few minutes please look the word up... and any sport can be played on a higher level than you think.

You've never played it then?
FYI - the rest of the world call it football.

Everyone in the US played it when they were kids... next they realize how boring it is and move onto real sports.

Football? No Way! Do you guys call NFL soccer too?

You're not telling me anything I don't know, and surprising enough I understand the world loves your 'football' but for some reason the USA is never going to embrace it. I know the rest of the world loves it better than they love their own mother... we just don't like it at all.

NO... its a game!!!

Well just 'cos you don't like it, don't slag it...

I don't like cabbage, but wouldn't be deragatory about it!

But we would never have met if I didn't!

Sorry, I hope you understand that I do understand most of the world loves your football... and I'm not silly enough to think any of the sports played in the US are more popular than football is.

I've emailed my sports radio station and posted here at RHP in defense of your sport... just took a small jab at it today.

They could see who was the BEST at war. i.e. The marathon where the runner took important war-winning messages to the battle field. It evolved into girls throwing ribbons in the air, because driving tanks or flying planes is stupid.
good post.
