I feel like I am still just as bad in live chess. Here I can take many minutes or hours to contemplate a move, but in real chess I have to move within a time and usually miss a lot of stuff.

Granted, I am still provisional, but I am trying to research to see if the $30 will be worth it.

I am quite intimidated by the sheer number of subscribers. Most sites the general visiting population is non-subscribers and those special few put down the money, but here the non-subscribers seem few and far between.

I used to think 15 games was a lot for elvendreamgirl to be playing at once, but now I see people with 100 - 200+ games going.

add on question: What steps are taken here to make sure I'm not being played by a computer? I don't want that happening.

It has helped my game, if i don't play too many games too fast. I have met a lot of nice people here, it's like a family. The fee is well worth the money.

We have elected people to monitor those suspected of using computers. I would say very few do.

Join the family, welcome.

Well, you aren't even a member dude! Yeah, anyone clicking on your name can see that you're just another drifter - as in NON SUBSCRIBER!

Non subscribers come and go... sometimes they cause a lot of grief to the paying members because they break the rules and stuff. Not saying that you would do anything like that, but I have learned from experience NOT to play non subscribers. 😠

I feel that this site has totally improved my otb game. Otb I play faster though and go for quicker and more ruthless tactics. Here these can be refuted with the proper amlount of thought, but when you're blitzing irl it pays to ahve a solid setup.

What this site taught me is the build that foundation always, even in blitz, sometime I lose a tempo, but I get it back when their premature attack is thwarted. Before this site I could get bowled over by fast openers, I don't find that happening much anymore.

Definately helps my chess, but sometimes when you're tired you make a silly move and ruin the game as you forgot what was going on since you last moved.
Still it's a great site which i enjoy.

It would take a lot more than a chess site - however good - to improve my chess.

Calm it. I said I am still contemplating the subscription. If I meet people like you who are hostile against the new visitors....

not very nice attitude!

most subscribers really avoid playing non-subscribers. does that (not playing with non-subs.) encourage to subscribe??? no way!

I play anyone, the only thing is that non-subscribers sometimes abandon the site in the middle of a game, but it doesn't bother me because I get more points. Never had any problems. Welcome to the site!

Give it a proper try dude. You've only played 12 games here. That's not enough to make a judgement on how the site affects your game. It took a fair few more games than that before i started to improve. I can't make a comment on how i play OTB though because i have inly played about 10 in the last year.
All i can say is give it time.
EDIT. And ignore idiots who think they can talk to you how they like, just because they have paid 30 dollars. Fools i say.
