Me and the Wife saw an IMAX film about the African Savannah, which followed in part the migration of a herd of wildebeasts. The wildebeasts had to cross a crocodile infested river in both directions of the annual migration. The crocs slaughtered them. Totally inhumane. Someone should build a bridge for those poor wildebeasts; think of the mental anguish of the survivors; think of the dread knowing that you must make the dangerous journey; think of the heartless souls that get their enjoyment by watching the wildebeasts suffer.

A group of humans standing on the riverbank shooting the wilderbeast for trophys is inhumane.
It is also inhumane to breed animals in captivity for cosmetic testing.
You'd better strengthen your argument here or the forum crocs will have you in no time.

Besides, the crocs eat during the rest of the year don't they? Or do they only eat when the wildebeasts cross. Boy, I wouldn't want to be a croc then, only eating two times a year. 🙁
Originally posted by FersbooI have a pet snake and he eats live mice. I don't particularly like feeding him live mice. I don't want the mice to suffer, but unfortunately that's just the way nature operates. Animals have to consume other animals or else we'd be overrun with rats, antelopes. pigs...whatever. It's a delicate balance and unfortunately, fear, cruelty and death help to maintain that balance. It also helps with evolution. I understand how you feel, but we can't expect lions to eat lettuce and crocs to eat tofu. It just doesn't work that way.
I've got nothing against the crocs, but couldn't they find their meals elsewhere. I mean, the fear on the young wildebeasts faces is so evident. Are you that heartless man?!?

As for wildebeast. Have you ever heard of the food chain? Crocs eat all the wildebeast they kill. They don't do it for sport. They do it from necessity. Any pieces of meat that escapes the crocs clutches feeds fish and birds and whatever carnivores chance upon it. This is an entirely acceptable occurance of any ecosystem. In fact, predators can often help herds by weeding out the weaker individuals to make the group as a whole stronger.

I think you better just drop it as you're coming across as rather clueless. Crocs can go upto 18 months without eating, so that 1 gorgefest a year may be all they eat.
