I predict a shock. I predict that travelling England fans will discover that Kazakhstan is a wealthy, comfortable, welcoming and beautiful place which has long since shrugged off the politically imposed poverty of the last century.

I also predict, boldly I dare say, that supporters will marvel at the hospitality of the local people, and amaze at their interpersonal and language skills, their educational achievements and knowledge of the wider world.

I'll also stick my neck out and say that many of them will decide to return to get to know the place further, its awesome scenery and developing infrastructure.

And finally, I predict that men and women alike will be struck by the physical beauty of the people here, their style, personality and charm. And while the word Borat will crop up in friendly banter with locals, nobody who ventures out here will dare associate such a label with this fantastic place ever again.

Oh, and, it'll be six nil to England, but that's one I should take to the sports forum 😉

Good luck, guys!

No but the local girls are more interesting anyway.

How will the locals react to the small groups of inebriated fans singing in the pubs and the streets?

Not sure, probably with a sense of surprise. I think many people here still see England as a small paradise where the streets are paved with gold and people sip tea gently and talk about the weather.

If it really is that good over there I strongly suggest a concerted effort is made by the local people to make the place as unappealing as possible. Otherwise within months the country will be crawling with English ruining all those aspects of life over there that you enjoyed.

Nah, they wouldn't be able to afford it.
