What's the best way to cook them? 🤔
You do not cook a perfectly fine fish you bunch of barbarians. This is how you eat herring:

Love egg fried rice. Mushrooms, chicken, prawn and onions, but why not kippers? I am gonna go for it. That sort of comfort food mixes with smoked fish flavour in my head. What's the worst that could happen??
Have you tried kedgeree?
Traditionally a breakfast dish but we have it for dinner.

That was what I thought. It is eaten for breakfast in the north of Germany. (from the fridge)
Kippers are a traditional English breakfast too.
Normally kept in fridge they are bought in vacuum
sealed packaging with a "use by date" of about a month.

They are usually warmed up but not cooked.

Yes, had it in a pub in a Cheshire pub after a walk. Excellent comfort food, more places should do it.

With a fork and watch out for the bones, maybe a splash of vinegar. 😉
Lol edit their already cooked but defrost them in a fridge and gently warm them under a grill or in a micro wave.

Ever since I first heard "Breakfast in America" I wondered, "What in the hell are 'kippers'?"

My kind of food; rice, mushrooms and onion are so versatile and go with anything. I love oily fish with hot/cold rice, coleslaw and kimchi. Or I have white fish with rice and a leek, mushroom & white wine sauce.
