I’ve noticed that there isn’t as much of a difference between left and right in other places like here. I don’t think the majority of people posting in debates are from here, so I have to assume their countries liberals and leaders are the same in thought since they support everything liberals say from here like it’s fact and without question. It would be i ...[text shortened]... te, and on another note guns are nowhere near the top of the difference between left and right here.
Back in the 80's, in the UK, the left/right divide was much more apparent. (Headlines would often reference the Looney Left). Nowadays it seems a much more subtle divide.

The 'libs' slur though (often used between America parties) doesn't really translate here.

Interesting, while the term doesn’t translate would you say the actions and beliefs do?

I don't think so. Being liberal, tends to mean being laid back and open minded.

Is that a bad thing?

That depends on if the beliefs of a few are forced on the many, changing culture and society in my opinion.

This is where 'libs' doesn't translate. Being liberal is about tolerance, not about forcing beliefs on others. (It is the opposite of that).

For example:

"Hey dude, I'm cool with you marrying a tractor, if that rocks your boat, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else."

I understand your point to a point, yet would say most on both sides would say that, live your own life and be happy. Yet when we see people enforce things like a boy or man can magically change into a woman and we’re forced to treat them as so and let them in school sports and up and force actual girls or women to share the same locker room or out in public restrooms goes beyond what you’re saying, it intrudes on others rights and beliefs and forced upon us which has nothing to do with tolerance.

I almost never participate in the Forums because I see so many disrespectful people & posts there, but I do check out the Forums. I have a whole lot of people on my Banned List simply because of what I see in the Forums. I don't understand why such people are allowed to continue on the Forums. They should be banned from the Forums entirely. That would certainly make the Forums more useful.
How would that help the Site though? Especially if they are paying Subscribers who may decide to leave? People leaving a Site is never a good thing in my humble opinion.

What would be the use of Forums if you didn't have enough Paying Subscribers?

Are you saying bypass the pretend rules for money, and as far as the forums their open to both and few use them.

No, What I am saying is you can't start booting people off of the Site, gives the Site a bad reputation as well.

You have to restrict things and stick to rules but a short term, or longer term ban is much better than booting someone in my humble opinion.

Booting someone should always be a last resort, which I believe is what Russ does. He has told me to tone it down back some years ago. He is actually an easy Man to talk to. Will look at both sides and decide for himself, no one that I am aware of tells him what to do. Exception maybe his wife. 😉

Yep, but that sits outside of being liberal (in the sense I use the word).

Note the last bit of my example - "...as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else."

Edit. - "Go marry a tractor if that makes you happy, but start telling my kids they need to marry tractors and we have a problem."
