It's called the "General" forum. But the rules don't apply here at all! I think we should call it the "General Chat forum".
Let me give an example of the typical messages in this forum:
user 1> Why do we have to pay taxes on our pets?
user 2> I like your avatar! 🙂
user 3> I'd like to pet you, babe! 😵
user 4> What's wrong with you? You don't have any respect for women posting here!
user 5> Study shows sex intimidation in the armed services.
user 6> I was in the army.
user 7> We're at war because Bush is incompetent! Impeach president Bush!
And so it goes, on and on and on... So you see, the "General" forum is really not a place where forum rules apply. It's a chat forum. We use it for a chat forum and I think we need a chat forum, so let's call it what it is.
Maybe if we did that then people would understand why it's being used for a chat forum? People could still post their ideas in here, but a person shouldn't get upset when their topic is hijacked.
