Let's have no illusions..

Let's have no illusions regarding three inescapable facts which pertain to each one of us as members of Red Hot Pawn: (A) Every last mother's son or daughter playing chess or socializing on this site's public forums experiences good and bad days (at home and work, in financial and romantic reversals, with health or other unpleasant personal surprises) along with many quiet and routine days of small things in between. (B) RHP represents an avenue of escape and forgiving point of stability in all of our lives... an ever present and refreshing option, faithful as a reliable husband or virtuous wife always there with open arms. (C) Russ & Chris remain steadfast in honoring their obligations. Shame on us for so often taking this fantastic gift for granted. -gb

They GAVE you this? Damn, I had to pay for my subscription. I'll have to post more silly, judgemental bs and see if I can get a year for free. Who knew?

the owners don't have any obligation at all to accept your offer to do business here. they could return your money pro rata and cancel your subscription without breaking any obligation to you whatsoever and i, for one, think the site / business would be improved if they did.

Wish to rephrase the last sentence... "Shame on us for so often taking this

fantastic gift (unique in the scheme of things) and each other for granted".

Prefer thoughtful responses and civilized conversation... but am certainly prepared

to absorb and smile at emotional reactions from unhappy folks with sad agendas.

Not quite. You project a false read in suggesting 'need'. Crux of my viewpoint relates to anticipation and flexibility.
