An electric car is still a car.

A bike isn't replacing anything.

But apart from USA every country is moving away from fossil fuel for electricity.
Didn't UK have a day recently totaly powered by renewables?
Denmark is almost 100% wind power.
Most (all?) EU countries are committed to renewable energy.
NZ is mainly hydro.

If NZ can do it with its low population density then Europe
can do it. The per capita cost would not be more.

City councils and supermarkets having charging stations
in car parks and of course many petrol stations do also.

Since we got ours we seem to see them all the time. Especially the kids!
But obviously it is still a small minority.

At least 75% of our electricity is clean. Mainly hydro,
some geo-thermal and increasingly wind.

The government have announced an incentive scheme.

And as I said before, councils and supermarkets are being pro-active.

NZ isn't the rest of the world believe it or not!

There are around a half a billion bicycles in China---about 1 bicycle per household---more th ...[text shortened]... to happen. Just because something is happening in one Country doesn't mean it will go global.

So your analogy of NZ having electric cars was brilliant, means all the other countries are going to switch?

I am telling you they would have to spend a lot of money on locations for people going long distance which could go well into the billions of dollars. I don't think it is going to happen any time soon or in our life time.

I bike has a motor and is run by gas, a bicycle is all leg powered!!! 😉
I don't see the scooters taking over anytime soon, just wishful thinking

We are trying to talk about things in the future, the electric car as an example which is a good idea but we will not see it take over the gas operated vehicles in our life time in my opinion
