I am telling you they would have to spend a lot of money on locations for people going long distance which could go well into the billions of dollars. I don't think it is going to happen any time soon or in our life time.

Just over a million of us to 150,000 sq kms. That is sparse.
It is happening, slowly but certainly in my
lifetime the majority of cars will be electric.
