he said it was particularly barbaric to launch an attack on the day the g8 were going to meet to try and tackle poverty in africa / global warming. i don't think he meant it was necessarily linked.

BBC radio news (don't ask me which station and all that - this is on our public broadcasting station here in the States) had an interview from some guy who works for BBC's Somali bureau. He was going to get on the bus, but the driver "didn't know where he was going" so he decided not to get on it....it blew up a few hundred meters from him. I bet he's rethinking some of his basic assumptions about life and death right now....
