My brother lives in Leyton and he works in Canary Wharf, could he have been anywhere near this shit?
On his way to work, I mean...

Concerning the fusion bombs I would like to say that they do not need those. The nuclear material of one single X-Ray apparatus in a doctor´s office fits enough for a so called dirty bomb.
Dirty Bombs are not supposed to blow up like a fusion bomb but to radiate strongly so that everybody who is getting his dosis will cetainly die.
So there is no safety if they want to f.. you they surely can do.
In my opinion this is a reaction to the Olympic vote which will prove that there are certain underground cells which operates freely from command. It means that in both cities London as well as France two cells have been working on and that the bombs were already prepared (cause the time was needed for planning the OP). Therefore I think we will maybe have bloddy summer games. Its just my opinion.
Let´s face it. To all times no government ever was able to show victory against terrorist willing to sacrifice her lives.
reports are saying that killing was not the goal - disruption of the public transport was the goal ...
if true then .. this will encourage private transport.
this is twisted ... the ramifications will be an improvement in the prospects of bmw, mercedes, gm, ford and all the big oil companies - it will be an advantage for the folks stripping the middle east of oil.
if it is the middle east - then: have they really thought this through?

But Ken Livingstone is a maverick, so spoiling the tube and busses to get everyone to pay the congestion charge to pay for the olympic games is one possible scenario.
I have little appetite to work today, My thoughts with everyone affected.
Update: Mobiles now work
Originally posted by Rochadeno, surely it is not related to the vote - it is too quick ... and really : who cares about the olympics to that degree?
....In my opinion this is a reaction to the Olympic vote ....
i suspect it is utilising the g8 meeting ... the resources of the police may be overstretched.
it also makes a vague insinuation related to the g8 thing - but - this is london - london is much more important than some meeting of politicians ... this was aimed at london.
Am at home in Putney in SW London on day off, girlfriend is at work in Central London watching events unfold from her 13th floor window. Very scary watching this on telly and knowing I would have been going through London on the tubes today had I not taken the day off. My thoughts are will all those who have been injured or have lost loved ones.

Man the Internet is bloody awesome!
There's a small map in the BBC article that shows the points where bombs exploded.
I eventually got a good map, used tubeplanner to check his route and time it would take. Checked this on the map and saw he should've been far away from this crap and he starts work at 9 so he would've been at work already...
Then I got an SMS from him - so no worries! Thanks for the info guys.
