I think the truth of it is that we all play at being bad mofos online, but the truth is we're a bunch of chess nerds who kind of like the opportunity to not be solitary chess nerds. Bring your parents, whatever, everyone will be cool. At least they will be if it's anything like the Ireland meets. I've fought people in these stupid forums who I've met in real life and like in real life and respect in real life. I hope those people feel the same, but not one of them pointed out what a moron I am online. It'd probably be the same for you in London.
My main reason for not wanting to bring parents, is essentially that I say a lot of crap on this site, and I don't really want to be embarrassed by it.

Despite the often spikey nature of this forum, all previous meet ups have gone without so much as a hitch. No one is going to single you out for special treatment man, bring you're folks down if they want to come. Maybe they can go have a day round London while you hang out with us?
I shall require a list of things to do for them though. 😉
btw, can I assume that the tube station for "victoria coach station" is, err, Victoria? Going down on the tube would be quite a bit cheaper for me...

Again, that would mean I would have to catch the circle line...🙂
Originally posted by Bad wolfI'm not sure what the nearest station to victoria bus station is, but there is a station very close, i've been there by train before. I think the nearest tube to the meet is Edgware road, but all the details you need are on this page...

Why not show your parents the pictures of the previous meets? It might go some way to allaying their fears of internet pedophile stalkers (which the media is so terribly adept at keeping in the forefront of every parents mind when regarding the Internet.)

Bad Wolf, don't let the Tomb use his "more vitamins than the sun" line on your mum.
