Dude, I'm so impoverished I'm coming by bloody bus!
Pfffft...
EDIT:
And who's Harrison? I don't believe I've seen him post here yet.
When you go into the bar, you'll see him, sat alone in the far corner of the room watching everyone who comes in. I say watching but his cloudy eyes barely move when someone enters and you have to wonder whether anything registers in that befuddled brain of his.
He cuts a sad figure; his hair is dishevelled and his clothes have not been laundered for many months. He just sits and stares into the middle distance and sometimes can be heard muttering to himself in the way that lonely drunks do. The glass in front of him is not quite empty; he cannot bring himself to finish it you see, until there is the prospect of another to replace it.
Some say he used to be a chess player of some note with pretentions
to achieving Grand Master status, but the drink put paid to that so now, in those few semi-lucid moments, he plays on an internet site though of course he doesn't use his real name.
When you see him, buy him a pint and wish him well!

Right. This is my second to last post until after the London meet:
Harrison's pub, just off Grey Inn road (where my hostel is), at 18:30.
This evening, before I get on the bus, I'll PM my telephone number to Starrman and Huck, just in case I don't turn up (that will mean I'm lost).
🙂
I am all ready to come now too. I was just planning out my route and thought to myself what
a long way out of the city edgware station seemed to be. Luckily I double checked and found
there was actually a station called Edgware Road which is much closer to where I am coming
in from anyway so I averted a bit of a disaster.
Hopefully, this might serve as a warning to anybody else making the same mistake.
