Having worked with Disney I can honestly say that from my experience that just cannot happen. Disney's ethic doesn't allow them to extend freedom to their partners. They have a very rigid 'creative' discipline which is absolute and stiffles any form of creativity which extends beyond their own plan.

I predict anything Marvel now produces will be watered down or detracted from the usual Marvel vision.

Is Disney still in the business of strictly family entertainment? I think that went out the window when they bought Miramax.
yeah, I hope that too. don't know how the miramax thing went over, but didn't eisner or robert iger make pretty general statements over disney holding up 'christian family values' a couple of years ago? after the u.s. right wing nut jobs made some noise about 'obscenity' in disney productions?

maybe that was more for the show though. well, I guess we'll find out in a year or two how it turns out.

Yes but if you look at the roster of films Mirzmax has released, many of them are nothing close 'family orientated'. Kill Bill Vols. 1 and 2, for example...

Ok in that case give me five weak characters.

Ps: I added the caveat of non-obvious characters so to avoid you wouldn't give me some easy stinkeroos in Marvel's roster.

Edit: like the one just mentioned above me. 😛

And what did you think of the Watchmen?

so with 'obvious' you probably mean the 90% I meant. but anyway, here's some 'non-obvious' to start with:

colossus
kitty pryde
cyclops
iceman
hawkeye
she-hulk (most female marvel characters could easily be swapped here, paint them green and nobody will notice a difference.)

leave them off and nobody will ever notice. you could probably throw in captain america there as well, the 'superman' of marvel, but regardless of his lack of depth he might not quite reach the level of uselessness of the others.
