No that would be the Sicilians; the self proclaimed "Fighting Cocks".

As promised I received an e-mail from the GM regarding the occurrences of Turn 8. While I believe it gives somewhat of a false impression of what I actually said (undoubtedly due to someone's e-mail), it does clearly state that Poland and Bavaria are not "multitying" (not that I said they were). Here it is:

Hello,

This is a note by the GM, I recei ...[text shortened]... ting him on his cunning ruse that gained him access to Bavaria's homeland on his first turn.
You should probably not put too fine a point on the difference between accusing someone and *implying* the accusation. While this may work in the legal system, in Medieval Europe, at least as many people died over implications as did over accusations. Whether you boldly accuse, or hide behind an implication, the dagger is still as sharp.

You really need to buy a dictionary and have someone read the word "implying" to you. I didn't "imply" anything. I said that there seemed to be two explanations for the bizarre moves done by these two nations in Turn 8. I EXPRESSLY stated what those possibilities were. Thus, there was no "implying" which means "to express indirectly" or "indicate by other than direct statement". And certainly no "hiding" behind anything.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

"indicate by other than direct statement"... yes, exactly. At least you know what it means. To claim that you did anything else is ludicrous.

I stand behind my statement.

You're truly pathetic. From page 108:

I find it bizarre that a player would grant full passage to his realm to somebody who just entered the game including allowing the other player to enter his capital city which is undefended ................ Only a complete fool or a cheat would have done such a thing.

Maybe you should also look up what a "direct statement" is.

Since, contrary to popular belief, I'm not a total prick; I will apologize to KnightWulfe for stating that he might have cheated. The GM is right; I should have simply sent my concerns to him and not made a public half-accusation.

I still think it's a boneheaded play, but if it works for him, it works for him. I wouldn't suggest anybody else do such a thing under similar circumstances (this is the MD STRATEGY thread) but screw it. So KW you have my formal apology for the public half-accusation.

In the interest of full disclosure, I just received a further, more detailed response from the GM:

Hello,

I have done several checks regarding these players, and I am confident that they are different people. In fact, the 2 individuals are long time players and Bill Jarrell has been in games for almost 2 years now. I have reviewed the situation, and although I can understand your suspicions, they are using different IP addresses and several other checks indicate that they are different people. Note that the replacement pool comes from a very large group (like 50+ people), and the probability of a person being assigned as a replacement in the same game he is already in is quite low. So, with all the other factors involved, I am very confident that these are different people. Bill Jarrell asked for a replacement position in any game, and it was just by chance he was assigned to this game, obviously he was very dilligent to start diplomacy going right away. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it is very important to me that all games are conducted fairly without cheating of any kind, and I always carefully check out these reports to ensure that the playing field is level.

Sincerely,
GM

Though I don't think KW is a "long time" player, the rest of the e-mail ends my suspicions. Though I think KW might have cause to be a little nervous.

I'm trying, but my men don't swim so well. Plus there's all these pirate ships in the way.

That shouldn't bother them anyway, there ain't no water in my dominion, which is where they're all heading.
Get them ready for the taste of burnt goat.
