However, I agree with the rest of what you say. That was my point. Speed isn't the killer in most cases - speed + inattention is. People who get caught by big yellow speed cameras aren't processing what is happening in front of them. If they were, they would see them and presumably slow down.
Thats how and why collisions happen.
