Is that "has known for over a year", or "a cheat for over a year"? I.e. did he start out as a real player? I haven't looked at his games.
Originally posted by no1marauderWell I generally don't look at other people's games, and I'm not sure it would help me if I did. Not sure I could tell by computer analysis, either; I only find it helpful to search for inaccuracies of 30-50 centipawns or above.
Every serious player here who bothered to look at his games at all has known meman was a cheat for over a year.
Obviously better players than me would have a much better idea what to look for. But I personally couldn't call Meman a "clear" cheat in the same way as the others.
Originally posted by dottewellDepends on what other cheats you're talking about. That he cheated from day 1 avoids the obvious "Mt. Everest" rating graph. Search for the 30-50 centipawn inaccuracies by meman in his 13 games with me; you might find a couple along with well over an 85% matchup with Fritz's first choice or equivalent. I can't quite explain it but he played like an engine, too, not a strong human player. One indication is how quickly he played with so few errors; humans tend to make errors when they play at a quicker pace. IronMen and memans don't.

EDIT: Actually, I have 12 "real" games with meman (2 games I resigned without any moves) 3 draws, 9 losses.

Trackhead was pretty correct in his lists about who was using an engine. Grayeyesofsorrow, myself and others were discussing meman's cheating at FW more than a year ago. He's been pretty obvious playing the number of moves he did at the level he did.
Originally posted by no1marauderI meant the other cheats kicked today - the "mountaineers". All four may have been obvious to you, to a greater or lesser degree; only three were obvious to me.

I will go through those games; when I'm analysing my own I'm not normally looking for "best" moves, just checking for crucial/fairly crucial mistakes. Have never actually checked how often someone picks the "best" moves.

For example, + 1.23 would indicate that White is ahead by about a pawn and a quarter. The evaluation is based on material and positional factors though I don't know if the specific criteria each engine uses is available to the public.
