Hey P πŸ™‚,
My Pirates beat the Cubs 22-0 in 1975, a game in which Rennie Stennett went 7 for 7 which is a record, I think, for a nine inning game!

What hasn't happened in 100 years is the Yankees losing by such a lopsided scoreπŸ™‚ Geesh, I feel sorry for themπŸ˜‰πŸ˜΅πŸ˜πŸ˜€

Regards,
Charlie

I don't feel sorry for the Yankees. I hate them so bad I would rather have my daughters working in a cat house than be a Yankee cheerleader.

Excuse me,but there are no such things as pro baseball cheerleaders. Yanks came back tonight to beat Cleveland 5-3,and the Red Sux also won. The 6 games they must play against each other later this month will decide the division. The usual scenario will occur: The Red Sux will choke like they always do,and just hand another division crown to the Bombers.

No,not says I,says history. When it comes to the Red Sux in September it's not:Cowboy Up,it's belly up. The Red Sux choking is as natural as the sun coming up in the morning, the tide rolling in,rivers running downstream, the swallows returning to Capistrano. As the Emperor Palpatine said to Luke Skywalker in RotJ: "It is unavoidable. It is your destiny." Remember the 1978 tank job the Sux pulled? I haven't seen a dive like that since Brody jumped off the bridge. And for all the Red Sux fans who still remember that horror story,my friend Bucky Dent says:"Hello!"

When one gets to a certain age, unoriginal, derrogatory names like "Red Sux" ought to be eradicated from one's vocabulary. Why don't you give us a "1918" chant next?

And by the way, when Slimjim said he had no desire to be a Yankee cheerleader, I don't think he meant he wouldn't want to get into a short skirt and sweater and dance around with some pom-poms. I would hope that NO ONE wants to do that. He just meant he would never be caught dead cheering for them.

It doesn't matter whether you love them, hate them,or don't give a hoot about them-the plain and simple fact is,and always will be, that the Yankees have that inner quality to find a way to win when needed, something the Boston crowd will never have. Boston fans are pre-conditioned to losing,to seeing their team choke just when the golden ring is in their grasp, and no amount of argument is ever going to change that state of affairs. And since the term Red Sux seems to offend some people, how about I change it to the Red Slugs? Or maybe the Red Slogs?
