The problem is the great advantage steroids give you with healing time, as well as developing muscle mass. Also, how damaging these steroids can be. It is not fair for the person smart enough not to take them to need to compete against someone who is juicing.

They seem to also be going to look into emphetamines, but have not heard how and what's going to happen. I would guess same 50 game etc. deal.

I guess you'll never get it. What people do to their bodies is far less important than what transpires on an online chess site.

I gripe about people using engines; if Barry Bonds starts using Robby the Robot to hit his home runs then I'll bitch about that.

Why not give them all steroids, let them swing telephone poles and take away the bases? We could call the new game "Home Run Ball". Sound like a good idea?

Tell me you're joking, no1! You honestly don't care whether these players use pharmaceuticals to gain an upper-hand on other players?

So, if you could test for steroids as easy as you test for engine use... you still wouldn't want to stop it?

Call it a medical advancement. 30 years ago there wasn't any "Tommy John" surgery and players who had that type of injury had their careers ended. 50 years ago Ryne Duren had to use Coke-bottle glasses to see; now they can do laser surgery and make you see normally. Players today eat better, have better training methods, etc. etc. etc. That's just the way it is; should everybody have to get drunk every night because Babe Ruth did?

I'd prefer to use NoOne's Barry Bond's Bot and watch them battle at baseball than people needing to do steroids to keep up with the idiots willing to do them.

No, I don't. If grown men want to use pharmaceuticals, good for them. If other grown men don't want to use pharmaceuticals, good for them. Why should I care?

No, they can smoke crack before, during and after the game for all I care.

Can't you make the same statements about engine use?

Yes, you can make the same statement about engine use; Shav does.

Your point?

Medical advancement? What a joke! To me, there's a difference between repairing an injury or an impairment to using steroids and hormones to turn yourself into dickless rage gorilla.

The point is that you feelings are inconsistent. You strongly fight cheating in chess, but don't think we should fight a similar situation in baseball.

What difference is that?
