Hmmmm. I feel I'm a long way distant from understanding American culture. So OK, I gather you won't be taking it to school to show your friends. Or do you have like "Gun Day" when everyone brings theirs along?
And where do you test it out? Do all suburban neighbourhoods have a shooting range? Or just a freeway with really inconsiderate drivers? Maybe there's a few stray cats that mooch about the garbage bins, causing trouble.
Anyway, if you enjoy shooting guns, and you get quite good at it, have a good time! Just try not to shoot PEOPLE I guess. And try not to join the army and go off to work for Haliburton in Iraq by accident either, π
Originally posted by VandalizerAmerica is a vast land, if you don't live in the city, there is plenty of space to shoot a gun, especially a shotgun, or fowling pieces as some call them. If you have a couple hundred yards you got yourself a place to shoot your gun. You can find a place to shoot a gun in every city, but in the country you just go off to some BLM land (Bureau of Land Management) and blast away.

But I agree, don't shoot anyone.

Anyway, I dont want to spoil ur joy π
Just be careful.
Happy birthday!!
In a 2nd thought, I have to blame the person that gave u a shotgun
as a gift...
For one thing, im proficient using fire arms (and i do it almost everyday at work, using a FAL 7.62 or a 9mm pistol, or anti-tank weapons).
A shotgun is a lethal arm. And it isn't the most propice arm to begin with to practice blowing targets).
So, hang it in the wall as a trophy.
Please.
but anyway, have a happy birthday!

Go ahead and take a look at the map. Can you possibly assume the community he may live in will mirror that of all communities across this land?
If you do, would it be safe to assume you are just as unaware of the country you live in?
Don't rain on this kids parade. You made a crass statement and treated him in a way that he probably would not have treated you.
And if you were half decent you would apologize to him.
nice so who r u going to test it out on? am wateing LOL
what did your mother ever tell you about fireing leathal weapons?
keep doing it it is good for the nation well catch ya aroundπ
go crazy with your new armed fire weaponπ that is what i would do i thinkπ then i would go around the streets with it and hope the police don't come up next to me and pull me in to the car π all well it would be a good try give it a shot catch around
I got tickets to see Manchester United play Leeds for my 15th birthday.
15 year olds with guns?
How else do you keep the most bloodthirsty nation in the world bloodthirsty? Why you give them guns when they are most susceptible to outside influences. Hitler did something similar with the Nazi Youth. Kids are so easily influenced, its unreal. Even our very own chess angel Elvendreamgirl has trained 6 year old girls the art of shooting firearms.
Mr. Burns. If you think I'm mudslinging with my above statements, than find me a nation which has been involved in more wars, has led more invasions and illegally ousted more democratically elected governments in the last 100 years, and I'll retract my statement.
Knapster, I'm not having a dig at you, enjoy your new toy. Maybe, if you're really good, Santa might get you a Kalashnikov for Christmas.

If you are proficient using firearms you should know that a gun is only a dangerous as the person that is using it. If one is properly trained in gun safety, and I believe most states have hunter safety certification, then a gun is a tool like any other. A table saw can pretty dangerous aswell, should I hang mine on the wall? The notion that anyone that gets a gun is absurd. I come from a family of eight, we all had guns and me have never shot anyone. We've shot plenty of ducks, quail, deer and hogs (and now elk, since I live in the west), but never shot any people either by accident or on purpose. And as for the person that gave it to you, BRAVO! The great outdoors is wonderful place to spend time with your child. There is something about sitting, shivering in duck blind at five in the morning that you never forget.

So, young man, go shoot the firearm, but if you haven't, take a hunter safety class, it's probably required to get a hunting license anyway.
people invented guns to bring war against themselves see we r killing ourselves here and who really gives a dammm no one cause they are to busy making guns and shooting fire arm that they do not get the picture yes it is a deadlly toy but that toy has a purpose like you have a purpose to be on this earth is what you do best i ain't haveing a go at you but this is the big world and there is alot of people get over the thing about war and get on with life that was the past dude but the future is comming and what ever comes towards me i know i will be ready but the question is will you. will you have the guts to face the realitty and see what else happens in your life or what. take a chance in life and have a fire arm weapon in your hands i will garinteed you will feel like you are on top of the worldπ[gid][/gid]

Not saying that our man here is one of these, but you must concede that with the ease of access to weapons in America, the percentage of idiots able to obtain a weapon is way too high. And the fact that a licence is available at 15 years old is surely testing the boundaries of safety. You're not allowed to get married or have sex at that age, but you're deemed responsible enough to carry a life endangering device? I'm sorry that speaks all sorts of wrongs to me.

yes that is true but you only get one chance with life well i don't know how life gose but to me it is one chance one chance to have a go at everything u dreamed about and if he's dream was want to get that weapon i see why not have it like my dream is to take my body to the limits and to be on top of the world and to go sailing over the herrizon sunset that is my dreams but hay i am trying to make them come true like he was so let him be and stop critsising him about something illegal ok
