guard up, and kick harder than him

drawl and twitch your eye like a crazy man occasionally shouting random things. Should cause your opponent to worry. If all fails though you could always play dead, remember discretion is the better part of valour.

Make sure you're well lubricated!

That's the best tip you can give for someone entering the ring for the first time.

Derfel Cadarn is actually (supposedly) one of King Arthur's nights who later denounced the old faith and became a monk in his later years.

Good luck, Ragnorak.

Kick him on the insides of his knee's, this will make him vomit with pain. Otherwise work the body, then paint the face.

yep, it's my opinion too that muay thai is the toughest fighting style. the sure sign of regard for this style is that fighters of various styles would always promote themselves by saying "we defeat a muay thai champion." documented history of open style fighting tournaments clearly show muay thai fighters dominating karate fighters due to the br ...[text shortened]... d tough training regimen. ps, didn't a skinny thai fighter win a k-1 tournament last year.
I'd say Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the most effective martial arts. When they get you on the ground, and they always do, it's game over.

Its just a novice fight. As such, we'll have shin pads on and there are no elbows or knees to the head allowed.

This fight is really just a warm up for the real deal in April. I haven't fought before, nor even wore mouthshields so this should be a nice introduction.

Cheers for all the tips,

D
You say you haven't fought before, but I assume you have been sparring right? (but without a gumshield?!) Don't wait until the night to try in the gumshield they feel awkward at first, and when you get out of breath, it's natural for your mouth to open a bit, this is when your (at least mine did until I got used to controlling it) gumshield has a tendency to fall out, when that happens the ref kicks it out the ring obviously the fight isn't stopped, all I am saying is be aware of this, as its much better to keep it in. Also if your opponent knows anything you have just signalled that you are running out of breath, whenever I saw that I used to try and muster a sustained attack. Definately do not be dismissive about it being a novice fight, there are no friends in the ring, take it extremely seriuously

Losing a few minor injuries wouldn't be so bad, would it? ๐Ÿ˜‰
