@Torunn saidYou been dipping into the offerings from the wine list?😲😉
@Great-Big-Stees
Do we need a bouncer? Not too social perhaps - either people should go in or out.
The menu will be decided by the chef and sous-chef so no worries there. Kitchen helpers will be available when the word is out that James & Jimmy run the kitchen.
I'm beginning to feel quite relaxed.
@Great-Big-Stees saidNot yet but I had a phone call from a wine supplier from Sweden asking for an opportunity to let us try a selection of their best local wines. In fact I will pay them a visit on 19th May - a few of us canasta players will go to a couple of places in Skåne (google!) and taste the favourites.

@Torunn saidIt's so rare to see anyone mention Canasta these days. I never quite learned the rules, but my late parents had a boxed set (which was really just two decks of cards plus the Canasta rules).

Maybe four-handed card games at card tables will also help to keep our deranged world together.
(BTW, over here when I was a kid in Michigan, our parents had a folding card-table, which of course my brothers and I put a blanket over to turn it into a fort. 😉 )
@Arkturos saidTwo decks of cards with two jokers in each and the rules were learned verbally. This was before we had our first television which totally changed social life - not for the worse, just different. Canasta has survived though but mainly I think bridge and poker.

@Torunn saidDo we have a, “card game room” here?🤔

@Great-Big-Stees saidI don't think so. With two excellent cooks we would prefer to focus on food and beverages. If our guests - before or after they had their meal - need to socialize, there is our splendid bartender.

@Great-Big-Stees saidPsst -- Don't let Torunn know, but behind the cue rack in the billiards parlour is a secret stairwell that leads to a glassed-in garden terrace with both felted poker-and-dice tables (with drink holders) and four-handed card tables, illuminated with some charming patio lights. As for any rumoured casino on the premises, I really don't know anything about that.

@Arkturos saidJeepers…I sure hope we don’t have a mole here, at the tavern.😲🫢

@Great-Big-Stees saidI have already inspected that place and had the door replaced to one which only opens from the outside. Once you're in there you will stay there until I let you out. Just do your job Stees and all will be fine. 🙂

@Arkturos said... and if you are our new bouncer, I suggest you stay out of that room.

@Great-Big-Stees saidBeing the owner of a tavern is no easy job. That's why you are so important Stees - the bartender is a customer's best friend. 🙂
As proprietress, you don’t “work” you schmoze with the customers so here’s your white wine.🥛😉👍😁
