@very-rusty saidBoth are highly tendentious and prone to telling any half-truth or outright lie to get what they want.
Is it just me or has anyone noticed the resemblance between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump?

@moonbus saidGood word that one.
Both are highly tendentious and prone to telling any half-truth or outright lie to get what they want.
"Tendentious"
I had to it up.
I'd initially imagined Trump's voice complaining about where he'd left one of his multiple sets of false teeth.
"G'damnit! I've got tendentious and can't find even one of them!"
@the-gravedigger saidThen there is Donald Trump, who surpasses that line with flying colours!
A politician not telling the whole truth ?
That's hard to believe.

@the-gravedigger saidNot telling telling the whole truth of how politicking works comes with the territory. As Bismarck said, politics is like sausage: if you knew how it is made, you wouldn’t eat it. That’s not the same as denying reality. Viz Johnson waving a kipper at a press conference and claiming that Brussels forces the UK to pack them in a certain way which somehow disadvantages the UK. It’s an outright lie, which has since been refuted, which Johnson concocted to re-inflame suspicion and hostility against the EU. As if he were still running a referendum whether to stay or go. That’s not politics, not even bad politics; it’s sleaze.

Trump does the same thing with his histrionic ranting about immigration via the Mexican border being a national security threat. A recent study found that illegal immigration peaked in 2007 and has steadily declined since.

@caissad4 saidJim Carrey's signature chipped tooth for Dumb & Dumber To from WhoSay: Carrey actually has a chipped front tooth from an accident in his childhood, and he decided to have the cap removed on the original film to make his character look a little more deranged.Sep 9, 2013

I think there were 3 of those movies made! I've always enjoyed Jim Carrey's movies, funny guy!!!

@very-rusty saidNo. Nobody in the history of the world. Also, it hasn't been pointed out on every single panel show ever, hasn't been discussed in editorials all over the press (both for and against), has never been mentioned on internet sites like tumblr, 4chan, Facebook, these very forums, or effin' LinkedIn, and in fact has never been thought about by any person anywhere in the world ever.
Is it just me or has anyone noticed the resemblance between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump?
Jeez.
@very-rusty saidBoth are sociopaths.

Both have silly hair.
However:
Boris has charisma. Trump is a troll.
Boris appreciates humour. Trump doesn’t understand it.
Boris is educated. Trump is a philistine.
Boris can be self-deprecating. Trump is a bully.
Boris is warm. Trump is a cold fish.
Boris is gracious. Trump is a calculating Jabba the Hut.
@pianoman1 saidBoris has charisma - if you appreciate buffoons. Trump has the same.

Boris appreciates humour - of the putting-the-less-fortunate-people-down kind. Trump loves mocking jokes, too.
Boris is educated - in a superficial, elitist way. Trump got his education bought for him, as well.
Boris knows that pretending to be self-deprecating makes people think he actually is humble. This is one real point of difference between him and Trump - and also between the UK and the USA.
Boris is warm - as long as you don't hurt his ego. Sounds familiar?
Boris is gracious!? Now you're just pulling our leg.
@shallow-blue saidTrump has no charisma, in my view. He is a robotic troll with no gentility or grace.

Trump had never said anything humorous. Ever. He does not understand humour. Humour has no place in his philosophy.
Whereas Boris revels in humour. He has the intelligence to see humour everywhere.
@very-rusty saidit was a very astute observation on your part
LOL....Interesting responses so far from a simple question: Has anyone noticed the resemblance between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump? Nothing to do with personality, or charming, etc., etc. that has been talked about! π
