What happened to the extended exposure (or something to that effect) round, which I could have sworn was supposed to be next....
12. Chess
13. Still Life (an arrangement of inanimate objects)
14. Extended Exposure
15. Movement/Motion
16. Home (can be in your home, or just in the locality that you would regard as home)
17. Words
18. Advanced Editing (or whatever I may end up calling that round)
You shouldn't swear. 😉

Not unfeasible (I've taken more in that same time period), just a heck of a lot more expensive....particularly if you're using slide film.

I've taken about 400 pics by now. I deleted about 300 of them, and then narrowed down the remaining few to 13, which I'm obviously going to have to further narrow down.
And I also plan on having another session some night next week, but I have to buy a wee something for that shoot. This is fun, and as its the first round which I didn't think up, I've actually had to go out and do some work for it.
What's the best way to reduce the size of the photos with minimum loss of quality, Noodleys?

Originally posted by RagnorakI can tell you what I do, although there may be better ways: For best quality, I do everything in Photoshop 5 LE (I have tried IrfanView for some simple editing because it's faster, but for some reason the pictures often get stripes when I save them in IrfanView). I first reduce the image size, and then I save the picture as a JPEG. You can then choose the quality. I sometimes have to try several times to balance file size and quality. For aurora pictures, I usually use something like 8 or 9 (Maximum); for most other pictures, this will make the file too big, so I have to go down to High or Medium.

So far, I got exactly one entry. I would really, really like this round to happen, but I need entries! Who is planning to enter? If people need more time, please let me know.
I want to try something, but I haven't gotten to the shops yet, so amn't sure if I'm going to take more pics. But I definitely have 3.
[EDIT] And there are no excuses for chess players interested in photography not to enter in a pic for this round. Just play with the lighting if you can't think of any way to make it interesting.
