I was the same until I started actually clicking. This might not be as easy for you (unless you've been able to persuade your better half about the need to get a DSLR), but I found the shots became clear once I started shooting.

Been netless intermittently for a while. Cheers for invite and comments.. sorry about all previous comments everything I said seemed to come out wrong and I got a big well deserved slapping from essjay.
Enjoyed reading the thread.. Good choice rag the canon dslrs really pop with excellent metring.
I have been winding down chess games and haven't been in a forum for yonks. Sarah and I joined a camera club and have been on lots of rambles and shoots.. all great fun...summer here so it's time to be out.
I've been shooting film again for the last week or two while my E300dslr is getting cleaned after a mishap..(Back by weds I hope).
Sarah has a couple of chess pics she might get in on time. I could by the end of the week but would hate to hold things up.
